Ten Things . . . Totally True Facts About Me According To Online Quizzes

So I might have just justified spending an hour taking online quizzes by telling myself I would write a post about them. Yep that is all the thought I put into this. But you know what these quizzes were like totally 100% true so maybe they are on to something.

  1. My life is just like the classic novel Charlotte's Web, I'm just trying to figure out if I'm more like Charlotte or Wilber?
  2. I have a brand New Soul. Right.
  3. I'm an Independent Woman. Need I say more?
  4. I was meant to be a Writer.
  5. Zac Efron is my celebrity boyfriend. #backoffgirlshesmine
  6. Oh and went Zac and I finally tie the knot I'll be wearing an A-Line Dress.
  7. You guys must think I'm really Artsy
  8. This one says I should have been born in the 90s, but I think they mean I should have lived and loved in the 90s.
  9. I look like Pocahontas. Actually when we were kids my brother Andrew thought I was Native American, true story!
  10. And finally My 1990s Theme Song is . . . Spice Up Your Life!
P.S. An interview with Ryan Goslings from 1999. You are soooo welcome!

Live: Let's Get Personal

I've been trying for write a post for the last few days and nothing seems to come to me as worth spending the time to sit down and write, but then I started thinking about what else is filling my mind these days and then this post sorta wrote it's self. Lately I have been thinking a lot about the way I spend my time, the things I enjoy and the lifestyle I want to have. Naturally this little blog was part of those considerations and I realized that I wanted to make a few changes around here. The biggest way I want to changing things, is to be personal.

So what does that mean? There will be a slight change of tone (I've actually never really settled on a good tone in my writing, so this is a good thing), you can expect less "here is something pretty" posts and more "here is what I have been doing/working on/loving/using/making" posts. Basically I want to put a little bit more me in this blog, really turn it into how I'm working on Building Something Good. (If you've ever wondered why I named this blog Building Something Good, check out the up dated About page for a quote from the poem that started it all.)

Now in the spirit of getting to know you here is a little list of 5 little facts about me:
1. I have never used an eyelash curler, I have fairly curly eyelashes naturally and those curlers creep me out!
2. I don't like avocados.
3. My freshman year of college was the first time I ever shared a bedroom.
4. I'm a big fan of car dancing, love to do it, love to see others doing it.
5. I can watch movies that I love over and over and over again. Most of my favorites I have seen at least a dozen times.

Give: My Christmas Wishlist

Have you finished your Christmas shopping? No. Yeah, neither have I. So I thought I'd pull together a few gift lists to share with you. And why not start with my own wishlist.

1. My camera died a few weeks ago, so I am in the market for a new one, I'm thinking something like the Nikon 1 J1.

2. I've also been wanted a more grown-up watch. I have been rocking a Fossil watch for most of my twenties, so I know they are great watches, but I think the time has come for me to more past the pink watch face. So I'm hoping to up grade to this The Stella Watch in Rose.

3. I do not wear much jewelry, I very rarely wear necklaces or rings and from time to time I will put on a bracelet, but wear a lot of earrings. So if someone is going to give me jewelry as a gift I'd like to get something like these beautiful pink drops.

4. Every few years I ask for perfume for Christmas, I think I am always in search of "THE" scent. You know the one that you will wear forever. Well this year is a perfume year and I'm asking for Coach Poppy (fingers crossed this is the one!).

5. Slippers are such a traditional Christmas gift, I even think someone gets slippers in Little Woman. If I'm going to be given slippers, I'd like cute Cowboy Slippers from Cath Kidston.

6. Finally in the fun and never gonna happen category. Who wouldn't love to find a vintage camper under the Christmas tree? I know I sure would!

What are you hoping for this year?

Live: Checking in on the Summer Wish List

(total creeper staring you down)
Do you remember a few weeks ago when I posted my summer wish list? Well we are almost half way through July so we are almost half way through what I consider summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day). So I thought it was a good time to check in on the list.
(the color is odd on this, but it is the closest to my actual eye color)
Let's see what I have done on the list:
2. Visit my brother's family in VA-Phoebe and I drove down to see them in the beginning of June.
3. Take a new profile picture-I think I will be one of these pictures. I took them very late one night after I had been out, my make up is half off, my hair is kinda falling down, but I actually kinda like them. (P.S. it is really weird, to me, to post so many pictures of my face on here. I hardly ever post pictures of myself.)
(one where you can see how sleepy I was)
4. Grill out-Accomplished many a meal has been cooked in the great outdoors.
5. Go to the movies-I have actually been to the movies a bunch this summer, because we have discovered $5 Wednesdays! My favorite has been Moonrise Kingdom.
(Sometimes I look at pictures of myself and just see how much I look like my dad-we have the same nose)
 8. Visit with old friends-I'm going to say yes, but there is more to come!
14. Eat outside-we did this before the sun exploded and we all moved into a heatwave!
(thinking about something)
17. Take a road trip-See above the Phoebs and I hit the open road (I also have two more trips to the East Cost planned for this summer).
19. Drink Ice Tea-Yes! The best ever comes from Beezy's in downtown Ypsi!
(where you can see how I sometimes open one eye way more than the other)
21. Read-I've started in on my summer reading list.
22. Walk in a parade-We did two on the 4th of July and there will be more later this summer.
(again funny things going on with the color)
That is how things are shaping up so far, not to bad. I have plans to knock a bunch of the others off my list starting as early as this weekend.
(right now this is the winner, it reminds me of my favorite picture of my niece and I)

Do you have a summer to do list? If so how is it going? Can you believe summer is half over?
