I first saw a preview for this movie a few weeks ago and am really looking forward to seeing it. So many of my fave actors are in it; Paul Rudd, Emily Mortimer, Zooey Deschanel and Hugh Dancy (Every time I see him in a movie I come away with a little crush!). Anyone else looking forward to seeing this movie?

Nearly Normal Girls
Holla! I'm still having a hard time getting pictures to up load from my computer to blogger (I'm thinking it is a me problem and I'll have to try and fix it over the weekend) so I am going to go with a regular ol' Share Something Good post today and I hope that next week will be full of project posts (I have some really good ones guys, it is going to rock!).
Anyway today I'm happy to share with you a brand spankin' new blog:
This blog is written by two sweet gals Hannah and Kimmy, (that I happen to know in Reals Life) and I know you are going to love it! So join me in wishing them welcome to the blogging world!

Bike Riding Weather
Well friends it is truely summer now and my mind has turned to trying to spend as much time out side as possible. Another one of my 28 Things for this year is to ride my bike more.
I have my very own vintage Schwinn, a Christmas gift from my mom and dad a few years ago, but if you don't have to good fortune to find a vintage one, I might be willing to trade you mine for one of these brand new beauties! The pink one reminds me of that perfect 1960's convertible and if you put a wicker basket on that green one you could just call it the picnic mobile!
Technical Difficulties
Having some blogger issues, hope to have a post up later. Anyone else having issues up loading photos to blogger?

Make: Daisy Daisy Baby Blanket (with only one picture and it isn't a good one either, sigh)
Last week I took a few days off so I though this week I'd change up my normal posting for the rest of this week. One of my 28 Things to do While 28 is to finish 28 projects. I am counting this as my first finished project, though I think I might have finished it the night before I turned 28. For this baby blanket I returned to the much loved by me African Flower pattern, it might be my favorite one yet (are you one of those people that the last thing you worked on is always your favorite? I kinda am) so I am bummed that I didn't get a better picture. Oh well maybe I'll just have to make another!
Here are the details:
African Flower Pattern (I use the English translation from Flickr)
Knit Picks Yarn Shine Worsted in:
Peapod
Creme Brulee (it looks like they don't have this color any more)
Cream
Black

Puzzled
After reading this funny post about "tweenysomethings" over at HelloGiggles I was inspired to share one of my favorite birthday gifts for today's find. I am sure that if I was in middle school when these Japanese Puzzle Erasers came out I would have collected them all, but it seems that for an adult I think one is probably enough, don't you? My sister Phoebe gave me the little gray elephant, and he is just totally cute! I plan on putting it up on a shelf with all my other tiny elephants, but if you are brave you could use them to erase mistakes on this weeks math quiz or remove all those heart encircled JTTs from your trapper keeper!

Today: 28 things to do while 28
This morning I woke up early, the sun was just starting to shine into my windows and the birds were chirping sweetly. I normally roll over and go back to sleep when this six o'clock wake up call comes around, but today I had a plan. I zipped up a hoodie, pulled on some jeans, slipped on a pair of flip flops, grabbed a pen, a note pad, my bible and some clippers and headed out side. I don't use my front porch as much as I'd like, to tell the truth it gets a little hot out there in the afternoons and a little buggy at night, but this morning it was lovely. I set down my belongings and puttered about the yard for a bit, I snipped a few roses to put in my bathroom and looked for new buds on my Dahlia plants then settled in to write a list. A list of 28 Things I hope to do while 28.
The list is mix of the serious and the silly. I hope to ride my bike more and visit friends and family from the East Coast to Chicago. I want to learn how to knit and organize my craft room. I am trying to memorize 28 bible verses, write 28 letters and read 28 books over the next 366 ('12 is a leap year you know!). Every year I like to set goals on my birthday things I'd like to do or see or begin that year, I'm not always the best at accomplishing those goals, but they are always fun to make!

So You Think You Can Dance - Season 8 (Top 20)
Do you watch So You Think You Can Dance? The start of this show every year is one of the things that just scream summer to me. Most years I see almost every episode with my friends at our weekly girls night, or with my mom and sister and a cousin or two. We all have our favorites, we have our own little dancer/choreographer crushes, we like to talk about the crazy get ups Cat wears and how smart Nigel is and copy Mary's crazy laugh (last night my dad even got in on the game, he might do the best Mary of us all). I think it is just think it is the perfect summer reality show, I know people like America's Got Talent and Big Brother or whatever other show CBS has going, but in my book nothing beats SYTYCD!
I don't know that these are my favorite dances of the night, but they are both amazing and show off just the fantastic talent the dancers on this show have!

Blow out the candles and make a wish
Maybe you heard, it is my birthday this week. Oh you did, did you? Well with that in mind I have pulled together a birthday wish list for this weeks "find" segment.
The violet earring from Anthro are back. So cute! And the return of the perfect party shoes from Kate Spade!
If only I could build my living room around this rug. To me it is perfect!
I have wanted some of this perfume for a while, but I feel like I can't get any until I deplete some of my sizable perfume stock.
I'd also like some cute bobby pins.
And this Cath Kidston Bag for my crocheting.
Oh and something fun like this to hang on my wall.

Now in reality I'm asking for a ladder or a picnic table.
What do you have on your current wish list?

GIVE AWAY! These are a few of my favorite things
Hi Friends! I have been wanting to pull together both a "favorite things" post and maybe a little give away. And then it hit me, as it is my 28th birthday this week I could put together a list of 28 of my favorite things AND give some lucky reader a birthday gift for my birthday!
28 of my favorite things:
1. Vintage Pyrex - here is your first give away item, a little blue Pyrex dish
2. Dahlias - I have a great big pot of them growing on my front porch
3. The Color Yellow - I love it ever where, except in clothes
4. The smell of fresh cut grass - don't we all love this?
5. Vintage Brooches and Sweater Guards - what you don't have at least a dozen brooches (and when I say a dozen I mean like three dozen) in your jewelry box (and by box I mean boxes)
6. Black Berry Ice Cream Sandwiches - I wish I could send you some, you must try them - you must!
7. Going to the movies on a hot summer night - I used to really love this when I lived with out air conditioning, there is something kinda magic about sitting in a cool dark room watching a great story while it is 90 degrees outside
8. "I've Got This Friend" By The Civil Wars - I love this song so much I want to send it to you on itunes (and if you already have it, great I'll send Adele's "Rummer Has It" and if you already have that I'll buy you "Your Smiling Face" By James Taylor and if you have that we should totally be BFF, you know!)
9. Sandra Dee and Bobby Darin Movies - That Funny Feeling is my Fave!
10. Pink Sheets - Actually I find that I like pink everything these days.
11. Sinful Colors Nail Polish - I love this stuff and at only $1.99 a bottle you can buy it in every color, and just because you are so nice I'm going to get you started with a bottle of "Soul Mate"
12. Anthro's Latte Bowls - they are the work horses of my kitchen I use at least one every day.
13. Buttons - I have a slight obsession with buttons, ask my friends they'll tell you, and I'm going to pass on some lovely vintage nuggets to on to you.
14. Cherries - My all time favorite fruit
15. Garden Gnomes - what can I say I have a soft spot for those little guys
16. Milk Glass - this stuff always reminds me of my Grandma Fink, red roses in a milk glass vase to be exact
17. Elephants - they have been my fave animal as long as I remember
18. Knit Picks Yarn - the best price/quality mix
19. Green Clover Candles from Target - They smell like early summer and I'm going to send you some to enjoy
20. Old Family Photos - remind me that some day I want to show you this great picture of my Great Grandpa Fink from college, it involves a black bear
21. Trader Joe's Vanilla Box Cake - my go to cheater cake
22. Paper Chains - is it weird that I leave paper chains up in my dinning room all the time? no, didn't think so
23. Blank Cards - I mostly buy blank cards, they work great for birthdays, babies, bridal showers and wedding and to just send a quick note
24. Burt's Beeswax Chap-stick - who's with me? good its in the give away box!
25. The Library - I don't think I need to explain my love of the library to you, but did you know the smell of the library is a whole other love of mine?
26. Hanging out with my little sister - I would give this away if I could, but I don't think she would agree to go hang out with someone she didn't know, unless there was going to be candy, a trip to the movies, or lots of Psych or Pushing Daisies watching going to happen
27. Sharpie Pens - I have you tried these? no? okay sending a few your way
28. Surprise Packages - and I hope you do too!
Wow, that was far harder that I though it would be. I hope that there were some new things you hadn't heard of before.

The thing is . . .
This week my mind and my time have looked a little bit like this picture: crowded and on the brink of being out of control so I didn't get around to writing any posts the first half of the week. I am however totally going to make up for it next week, when all the posts will be brought to you by the number 28!

This Week
- Last night they were filming this movie down the street from my parents house, this morning it looked like this as they cleaned up the faux christmassiness of it all (I don't know if it was actually christmas, but they did cover the trees with fake snow that was kinda awesome!).
- We also started out new Read Something Good book for the month of June.
- This morning I'm heading out to go yard sale-ing with a few of my fave ladies, I'll let you know if I run into any great strawberry finds.
- I didn't post any projects with week, but I do recommend you check out this one over at HelloGiggles.
- If you read and enjoy design blogs and online magazines you might want to check out Grace's insightful response to the much talked about NYT article over at Design*Sponge.
- I'm also sending wishes for a fast and happy run to my baby brother Isaiah, who is spending his day at the State Track meet! Heres to setting PRs and beating school records!

Reading List: June
So did anyone read The Help last month? Did you love it? I sure did!
Anyway for the lovely month of June we are leaving fiction behind for a while and reading Sloane Crosley's How Did You Get This Number. I read her first book a few years ago and remember enjoying it. Let me know if you read How Did You Get This Number and if you do what you think of it. I am saving up all my thoughts on my year's worth of books for the end of the year, but I'll let you know that so far some I've loved (see The Help) and some I didn't like at all.

Style Me Pretty
A few weeks ago through channels I can not longer remember (you know a twitter post to a blog with a link to a news article etc) I came across the new(ish) HGTV show Secrets from a Stylist and I love it. You can see full episodes on the HGTV site and flip through before and after photos and learn more about Emily's tricks of the trade.

Strawberry Picking
Do you remember last week when I said I was happy that good strawberries have hit the store shelves? Well, I have been inspired to pull together a little round up of some strawberry items you might love! Lets start with this sweet box, wouldn't be perfect on you kitchen counter to hold you keys and loose change!
I'd love to send you all a note to let you know how sweet you are!
Yummy red yarn would be perfect for a sweater for a little strawberry baby.
Maybe try this Strawberry lip balm for a more grown up throw back to your lip smackers days!
I am highly tempted to pick up one of these milk glass jam jars, etsy is simply teaming with them and I am smitten, I'm not sure what I would do with it, but I am sure that I need it! (yeah, that is how it goes)
