Share: Pinterest Faves Starlight

Do you remember back in the beginning of January when I said that I had stars on my mind? Well I have been collecting Star centric pins all month and am happy to share the first of a few star related posts.

In the mean time check out my Starlight Star Bright board!

Oh also, I've had some internet issues this week, so I haven't been posting, which means I have a bunch of post up my sleeve. So I'll be posting over the weekend!

Make: Fall Pinterest Challenge

It is that time again, Pinterest Challenge time! Ah I love a good challenge so I am happy to once again be working away on turning some of those pins into something good!
For the fall challenge I have pick a bunch of mushroom pins I have been collecting over the last few months. But first has anyone ever actually seen a bright red mushroom in the wild? Anyway moving on I love the look of a red mushroom with little white spots (I even made a few mushroom ornaments). I have a few ideas about what I might do, but in the mean time enjoy this run down of fun mushroom pins!
Wood mushroom toys.
Awesome mushroom lamp.
 Sweet fairy house.
I'd love to find a place in my house for this crazy cute "toadstool"!
And maybe I can snack on some of these yummy mushroom shaped cookies while I work on my project.

Do you have a pin that you have been wanting to recreate? Why don't you join the Challenge. Make sure to check out the hosts of the Fall Pinterest Challenge; Bower Power, Young House Love, Our Fifth House and The Ugly Duckling House and check back next week to see how my challenge turned out!

Share: End of Summer Pinterest Finds

We can tell by the cool nights and the return of the school buses that summer is coming to an end. So before Labor Day weekend comes and we unofficially say so long to long days and hot nights, I wanted to share my current summer-y Pinterest faves. Clearly I have been inspired by the bright and happy colors of late summer. So think of these as an expression of the Dalia garden I wish I had blooming right about now!

This last one might actually be a sneak peek to fall, but I thought the beautiful colors of the veggies just fit perfectly with my bright and bold colors of summer theme.

As always I'd love to know what you are digging right now. You can find more of my pinnings right here on pinterest.

Pinterest Challenge: Map It Out

You might remember last week that I said I was going to take part in the Summer Pinterest Challenge. I even showed you my pinspiration:
This map project by Kayla Danelle ended up being closest to my final project.
Okay my project isn't actually finished I still need to find a frame that will fit my state wall art. But even unframed I think that my challenge worked out okay. Here is what I did: I started by painting a few shades of  blue watered down acrylic (on a paper bag!), then after cutting out the state of Michigan from an old map I had hanging around I used spray adhesive to adhere the map to my bag.
Then I used a star shaped button that I already had to mark my hometown on the map. I finished the whole thing off by writing "Michigan" with red pastel across the top.
For now it is hanging out on the back of this closet door while I look for a frame. Considering the rest of the project was created using things I already had so I don't mind spending a few bucks on a frame that will work for it.

Don't forget to check out all the projects created by the Challenge hosts: Young House Love, Bower Power (be warned you will want your own living room teepee!), Ten June and Centsational Girl!

Pinterest Challenge: I'm at it again!

You know I loves me some Pinterest! And even more I love taking something I find on Pinterest and making it real. So I am, of course, excited to take part in the Pinterest Challenge (Summer Edition) that Young House Love and Bower Power put on each season.
After flipping through my pins and the rest of Pinterest I have settled on these map based projects as my pinspiration.
I'm not completely sure what shape my project will end up taking. I love both the words and the hearts.
I'm kinda digging the pattern used for this Oklahoma print, so maybe there will be some scrap booking paper involved.
I my original thought, the one that sent me searching on Pinterest was to cut out a state from a map so I am still really interested in using an actual map for starters.
But maybe I'll cut my map into something other than an actually shape of the state.

Want to check out my other Pinterest Challenge projects?
You can find my Ombre night stand inspired by a slice of cake here.
And you can see my Cross Stitch painting right here.

I'm Diggin': Pinterest plus a Pinterest Challenge

The other day I was looking through my Pinterest pins so I could share with you something that I am currently really digging. I realized I had been pinning a lot of Pink Ombre pins, particularly lots of Pink Ombre cakes, like this pretty little treat from Eddie Ross. I'm thinking I really need to bake one myself; who has a birthday coming up? Wanta a pink cake? Great!
Oh and then I saw this table cloth, don't you love it? This summer come over to my house and we will have a dip dyeing party in my back yard and then we can have dinner on a fab-ly decorated picnic table. Table cloth originally from here.
Next I found this lamp shade. Let's just call it L-O-V-E! Oh course it is Martha and they want you to make your own. Check out the DIY.
Finally we have the cutest desk in the world by Vintage Revivals. And inspiration has struck. I have the perfect project to channel all my Ombre love into.
So how serendipitous that Young House Love and Bower Power have invited us all to join in their seasonal Pinterest Challenge. I'll be back on Wednesday to post my project, if you'd like to join in you can find all the info right here. If you'd like to see my Fall Challenge you can check out my Cross Stitch Painting.
